Since 1996, ACM has provided emergency medical evacuation services to our members worldwide.

When an emergency situation arises that local (international) medical care cannot adequately treat, ACM medical staff coordinates all aspects of the medical evacuation. Because each evacuation is unique, a tailored action plan is developed to assure the best medical outcome. The services that may be included in the action plan are:

• Verification of the medical condition
• Determination of medical necessity of the evacuation
• Determination of the nearest qualified medical facility to handle the unique circumstances of the insured's medical condition
• Coordination of the evacuation options, including:
• Types and availability of appropriate transportation options (i.e. medical evacuation plane and level of medical facility on-board, commercial airline, ground ambulance, sea transportation, etc.)
• Level of medical escort personnel necessary (RN, MD, etc.)
• Emergency medical reunions
• Evacuation cost quotes
• Repatriation of mortal remains

Since 2005, ACM has organized and executed hundreds of emergency medical evacuations all over the globe. The graph below illustrates several of these evacuations.
